Fargo Public Schools Announces Two Admin Hires

Fargo Public Schools announced the hiring of two administration positions within the District on May 27, the last day of classes for students for the 2015-16 school year.

photo portrait of Vincent WilliamsVincent Williams has been named to the position of assistant principal of Woodrow Wilson High School and director of the District English Language Learners (ELL) program. Williams will begin his duties on July 1.

Williams is an alumnus of Minnesota State University-Moorhead (MSUM), and graduated high school from Detroit, Michigan. He played football for the MSUM Dragons all four years while attending college. Williams has been the administrative intern for Kennedy and then Lincoln Elementary Schools for the past two school years and was a social studies teacher at North High from 2004 through 2014. In addition, he served as the assistant football coach at North for two seasons, and the seventh and eighth grade head football coach for Ben Franklin Middle School for seven years. Williams has also served as a wrestling, boys basketball, and boys track coach within the Fargo Public Schools (FPS). Williams is a new teacher mentor for the District, has participated on the FPS Calendar Committee and Summer School Task Force, and has been involved with technology initiatives within the District. Williams began his employment with Fargo Public Schools in 2003 as a homebound tutor, substitute teacher, and paraprofessional.

Williams is an adjunct professor in the Education department at MSUM, and received the MSUM Distinguished Alumni Award in 2015.

Williams holds a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from MSUM, along with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Social Studies with a Minor in Economics from MSUM. He holds his Administration Credentials from North Dakota State University.


photo portrait of Dan ShultisDaniel Shultis has been named to the position of dean of students/activities coordinator for Discovery Middle School. Shultis will begin his duties on July 1.

Shultis is an alumnus of North Dakota State University (NDSU) and the College of St. Catherine, and graduated high school from Elk River, Minnesota. Shultis has been a physical education instructor and sports coach at North High School since 2002. Shultis served as the dean of students for the Fargo Public Schools Summer School program in 2015. He has served as the North High football assistant coach since 2002. In addition, he was the North High head boys basketball coach from 2004 through 2015, and the North High assistant school golf coach from 2009 through 2014. He also serves on the school’s Site Based Leadership Team, is the School Improvement co-chair, and the North High Physical Education department chair.

In 2006 Shultis was selected as the North Dakota High School Activities Association Class A Basketball Coach of the Year and has twice been selected as the Eastern Dakota Conference Coach of the Year. Shultis was inducted into the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011.

Shultis holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of St. Catherine, along with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a Minor in Health from NDSU, and an Associate of Arts degree from NDSCS. He also holds his Administration Credentials from NDSU.
